Today the area is a beautiful vibrant shopping area, lovingly restored and preserved. In 1965 the area was run down and all but abandoned which many believed was not worth saving. I often reflect upon how our beautiful STAUNTON, VIRGINIA would have become something quite different had those lovely buildings not been preserved. Some things that are "old" should be preserved. I learned some very valuable business practices starting at age ten. One was to preserve that which is good and beneficial.
